Dark, dark woods!

Cubs went a-wandering in the dark, dark woods tonight! The weather was on our side and it was a clear, warm for March evening! Thanks to all who came too but a huge thanks to the Cubs who were amazing! Only one grumbled at the 1.75 miles and that wasn't really a grumble! I think they loved using their torches and seeing if they could spot badgers and foxes - and we stopped halfway to see what constellations we could see!

Preparing to camp and hike!

This week we worked out what to put in our rucksack on a hike and how to put up a tent. Much fun was had by all..

Perhaps not the high heels!

INDOORS TONIGHT

Due to the forecast for snow we are playing it safe at Beaver Scouts and meeting at the hall tonight.
We will have indoor fun instead of getting too cold!

Indoor tracks and trails

The weather was bitterly cold but we managed to do a bit of our outdoor challenge.. Much warmer!

We looked at the markings for trails and tried them out with sticks and red round things (found at the wonderful scrapstore). The beavers laid trails to follow and did a brilliant job. Next was tracks and a bit of paint printing of horseshoes, ducks, bird tacks and we decided a teddy bear!!

Having a stampingly good time!

Tonight the Cubs were challenged to create some collaborate art for their Artist badge! They were given a humongous piece of card with an outline of a tree, a box of inks and another box of nature related stamps. The challenge was to practice cutting as many of them didn't cut carefully and everyone rose to the challenge. I saw so much team work that I was so incredibly proud of them and the concentration was amazing - well done Cubs - you're amazing! I hope the Scouts are as good when I help them with their Artist badge at the end of the term!!!
