Well, we had a fantastic time.. we arrived in rain and left in really warm sunshine. This camp was not about squeezing in too many activities but being together. We learnt some skills and ate great food - Thanks Jane & Peter.
We are so lucky to have had lots of fantastic adult help it made it
easy and fun - Thanks to Jane, Emma, Adam, Jane, Niel, Peter, Martin (a
secret whizz with the beavers), Sarah, Caroline, Sam & Alexander ( a
beaver in waiting), Caden on his last weekend with us before heading
home to Canada and the wonderful Aiden - our fabulous Young leader a
sincere and heartfelt thank you
We ended with an investiture and a Chief Scout Gold being awarded.. who could ask for more?

CUBS - CLIMBING AT GO OUTDOORS CANCELLED 27 JUNE
Sorry everyone but Go Outdoors have cancelled with Caden today.. Thursday will be at the hall and will allow us to get prepped for camp.

Campfire and AGM
Well we went from a moment of panic with torrential rain, and our Chair person and Group Scout Leader delayed by work to the most wonder sight of almost 100 young people and adults singing "Campfires burning" in no less than 4 sections/rounds. We were lucky enough to have Gary Staff, our Deputy District
Commissioner come and join us (I think he enjoyed the hotdog and
singing!).
Thank you to all who attended, it showed the leaders that there is great support for 1st Crownhill Scouts and to you, I hope, it showed we can have fun all together. We asked for help and some new help has come forward on a flexible basis - "when work allows me to come on a Thursday" and " I can do twice in 6 weeks with my shifts", which is just brilliant! We all have busy lives and if we all do a little bit we can make this work so watch out for that parent rota please, also do consider a uniformed role as perhaps a section helper?
We filled most posts on the Executive Committee but would like parents to think about helping out with some of these roles as parents move on with their Young people out of the Scout group. There will be an opportunity for someone to help with the secretary's role in the coming year - fancy sharing it with someone? Have a chat to a leader if you can help.
It a chance to say thank you to all those who lead our Young People with special thanks to Emma, Adam, Caden, Chris, Caroline, Sam and Carl. They are just great!

Closed Facebook for Parents and Leaders launched
We are always looking for ways to communicate more easily with the whole scout group. Scouting is such a great experience for everyone but know it can be frustrating when news is hard to get or comes out late so we are giving this closed facebook group a go.
We realise that not everyone uses facebook and we will make sure information is available on the website but we are limited by safeguarding from putting details of events on there.
We will be able to easily put up forms, photos, information etc. and you can use the group to make arrangements between parents.
We are really hoping that it will enable us all to work together as a team for the young people in our scout group. Please remember all Leaders and committee members are volunteers and may take a up to a week to respond to any specific queries but we will do our best.
This group will be monitored by Leaders and the Executive Committee and you will need to be accepted to join. You will need to leave the group when your child leaves scouting.

Scout expedition
All home safe and sound. A great weekend had by all. A HUGE thank you to Caroline who was ably assisted by Sam for organising the event! Thanks to Adam, Chris and Bev for walking and to Niel and Jane for equipment organising. We are really lucky to have a great team who pull together for all the sections. Carl even cycled from Mk to see how we were doing!
