Badges

We are very keen that all of our young members have the opportunity to experience a wide range of experiences, within the hall and outside. The experiences offered are often towards badges for them to wear with pride on their uniforms. There are three main sections of badges:
Challenge badges - these usually take a while to earn and are made up of several sections which enable the scout to experience an area of scouting in a little more depth. When the scout has a certain number of these (and the number depends on the section they are in) they will qualify for a bronze (Beaver), silver (Cub) or gold (Scout) Chief Scout Award. Challenge Badges are worn on the right hand side of the chest.
Activity Badges - these are worn on the sleeve and are earned alongside the Challenges badges during meetings. However if your scout has an extra curricular hobby that they enjoy they may be able to earn a badge - please speak with your section leader for more information!
Staged Activity Badges - these are staged over five sections and will follow the scout through their scouting career - some are covered within meetings (such as First Aid, Hikes Away and Nights Away) but others can be completed by the scout in their own time.
